Volunteer

If you feel like supporting our cause, we really appreciate it! That’s why we invite anyone to lend a helping hand to our Sunvillage family! It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, or if you are alone or a whole group, we are happy to receive your help!

Here are some of the most common arrangements:

• You come in for one day to help us
• You come in once per week for a few hours (over a longer period)
• You move to Sunvillage and become a long-term volunteer

Variations from these are possible, you can arrange according to your own needs. Volunteers receive free lunch and dinner, as well as all materials they need for their service. Long-term volunteers can live with us at Sunvillage free of cost! In the past we were also supported by non-Chinese volunteers. If you are a foreigner and interested in volunteering, please get in touch with us. However, due to local restrictions you may have to find a place to live outside of Sunvillage.

What to do as a volunteer?

You know best where your skills and interests lie and how you can help us the most. That’s why it is up to you, how you are going to spend your time at Sunvillage. There are many options and generally volunteers are not responsible for only one thing. Everday life at Sunvillage offers lots of variety and many different tasks. Here are a few examples:

• Teaching the children and help them with homework
• Help in the kitchen for lunch and dinner
• Working on one of our farms (plucking strawberries, planting trees, etc.)
• Raising our youngest children, that don’t go to school yet
• Activities with children (Playing or teaching things, such as making music, sewing, etc.)
